A Banking Partner That Holds Water

“Life is better at the lake.” This sentiment might be especially true for Mike and Patricia Powers, owners of the Bay Pointe Inn on Gun Lake. The resort’s beautiful lake frontage has made it West Michigan’s destination for weddings, corporate events and relaxing escapes.

With the addition of Bay Pointe Woods, the Powers are building on their tradition of delivering one-of-a-kind getaways, award-winning dining and lifelong memories to their guests. Bay Pointe Woods will feature a large event venue, 10 cottages that sleep six to eight people, and of course, all the splendor of the lake and natural surroundings. “I’m passionate about these spaces because it allows us to continue creating memorable experiences for our current and future clients,” said Mike Powers, President/CEO.

“When we decided we were going to double our capacity and footprint at Bay Pointe Inn with a significant expansion, we needed a lender that had the vision and experience to understand our unique business model. Charles Slauer from FNBM recognized the opportunity and the challenge of combining multiple properties into one loan with a competitive structure. He presented us a complete banking relationship package that also streamlined our internal bookkeeping and accounting efficiencies! We couldn’t be more pleased with every aspect of our lending, banking and investment relationship with FNBM”.

Bay Pointe Woods will create 20 new jobs in Shelbyville, and is slated for completion in June 2019. A grand opening celebration and ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held later that summer.

Tops in Wows

Bay Pointe Inn has garnered several travel industry and guest satisfaction awards, making it one of Michigan’s top resorts. “Since 2004, we’ve been honored to host numerous weddings, corporate retreats, family reunions and social functions,” said Patti Powers, Co-Owner. “While we’re humbled by the accolades we’ve received, what matters most to us is wowing our guests and clients. We can’t wait to wow them even more in the years ahead.”
